The “lilaafi” hitmaker speaking on Radio Upper West’s “Entertainment Hub” with Dj Koo Fori on Saturday has expressed his desire to enter politics and became a politician. He said that the people, who hold public offices are supposed to help citizens but unfortunately, they do not do so. He lamented that most public officials become politicians to enrich themselves but for him, he wants to become a politician, particularly in the Upper West Region to better the lives of the people. His ultimate goal as a politician is to be the president of the country. Rahpius Amigos who is currently the Vice Chairperson for MUSIGA in Wa was on “The Entertainment Hub” to talk about himself and his music career.
Raphius Amigos who is still relishing the popularity of his song “Lilaafi,” stated the song’s reputation was beyond his expectation. The song “Lilaafi” still enjoys massive airplay. Answering why that song still reigns; Raphius said that “Lilaafi” has a powerful message blended with the right tune and hence its hype. Recently the singer who is touted as the Pride of the Upper West, the King of the North and the darling-boy has recently released “Champion” with Macassio an artiste from Tamale and “Daulo Pogo.” These tracks are also receiving a lot airplay from various radio stations.
Talking about the music industry in the regions, Raphius admitted that the industry has come a long way and that is time for people in the region to patronise their own artistes. He also debunked allegations that he as an artiste had problems with Derry Gee. He said that though they had a little misunderstanding before, they had solved their issues and were cool. He noted that Derry Gee was the DJ on the bill when he performed at the Wa SRC week celebration. He again added that for him, Derry Gee is the best DJ in the region and beyond and the best for him as an artiste when he performs. Raphius expressed interest in touring Wa East when fans from that area called into the show to speak to him.
